What is the VA-ECAP?
Virginia Early Childhood Administrator Professional Credential (VA-ECAP) is an online credentialing program –a joint offering between Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and The Source for Learning, Inc. (SFL).

  • Semester-based credentialing program.
  • Earn credit hours for NOVA Child Development courses and NOVA CEUs for non-credit SFL Leadership & Management courses.
  • Learn from highly experienced instructors.
  • 5-year renewable credential.

Two Levels - One Credential!

The VA-ECAP is uniquely designed to support professionals at varying stages in their education process.  Whether you hold a CDA (unexpired), an AA or a higher degree you are eligible to enroll in the VA-ECAP!

Level I – CDA Recipients: Completing the VA-ECAP courses qualify for a credential and a couple of courses may count towards an AA degree.

Level II – Already hold an AA degree in ECE/CD or a higher degree?  Earn your credential!
